VANCOUVER, December 28th, 2005 – Diamond Fields International Ltd. (TSX:DFI) (“DFI” or the “Company”) announces that consistent with the planned relocation of its Head Office to Cape Town, South Africa, the Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren McDonald CMA, as interim Chief Financial Officer, which becomes effective on December 31, 2005. Kenneth Hecker, CFO, COO and Secretary of Diamond Fields will resign from the Company effective on the same day. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Diamond Fields would like to extend its appreciation to Mr. Hecker for his service, and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
Mr. McDonald will guide the transition of DFI’s head office from Vancouver, B.C. to Cape Town, South Africa. He has served as DFI’s Controller since February of 2003 and is a Certified Management Accountant formerly of Grant Thornton LLP and KPMG LLP. Upon leaving public practice, he joined Diamond Fields as Controller and has been responsible for all aspects of the Company’s accounting and financial reporting.
The Company also reports that Inco Ltd. (“Inco”) has advised DFI that it does not plan further work on the Company’s Ammassalik nickel project in East Greenland. Inco completed a drill program on the property during the 2005 season to evaluate nickel showings and geophysical targets generated by DFI’s exploration in the previous two seasons. Results were not encouraging leading Inco to its decision to withdraw before vesting and thereby retaining no interest in the land package compiled by DFI. The Company is assessing its data and the Inco report on the properties to determine if further exploration is warranted.
Diamond Fields International Ltd. is an internationally active exploration and mining company pursuing mineral exploration opportunities worldwide.
