Diamond Fields – MV Anya Sailing For Luderitz Blue Bay Project Area To Resume Diamond Mining

Diamond Fields International Ltd. (TSX:DFI) is very pleased to announce the departure on September 16th, 2003 of mining vessel mv Anya from Cape Town to resume mining operations in the Marshall Fork deposit offshore Luderitz, Namibia.

Vessel manager Gemfarm Investments (Pty) Ltd. reports that the re-registration of the vessel under the South African flag and the associated change of classification society to RINA have been finalized. In addition, extensive improvements and refurbishment work have been completed on the processing plant and mining systems.

Mr. Gregg Sedun, President and CEO of Diamond Fields commented: “As a result of the comprehensive work carried out on the mv Anya, we expect a significant improvement in performance and reliability, resulting in increased diamond recoveries from our Luderitz Blue Bay Project area.”
